Eco-Bat offers the possibility to quickly perform the life cycle impacts anlysis of a building. This tool is specially designed to be used during the conception phase. It can be used by architects and engineers who want to assess the envionmental impacts of a project or even an existing building. Eco-Bat 4.0 offers the following features:

-
Simple building definition by adding construction elements (walls, roofs, floors, windows,... ) and choosing their materials composition.
-
A choice of more than 140 generic materials (concrete, wooden products, metals, coatings,...) available to define the construction elements. The environmental impacts data for these materials comes from the KBOB LCA recommandation list and from the Ecoinvent v2.2 database. Additional data has been compiled using information from professionnals in the construction domain.
-
Calculation of the environmental impacts related to the construction materials. The most important phases of the building life cycle are taken into account: materials manufacturing, transport, replacement and elimination. This methodology is compliant with ISO14040 as well as Swiss SIA2032 and Minergie ECO standards.
-
Use of 4 indicators to quantify the environmental impacts: NRE, CED, GWP and UBP'06.
-
Numerical and graphical results. Results are available on three levels: the whole building, each elemement and each material of each element. Numerous graphical tools allow the comparison of variants of materials and elements.
-
Buildings comparison. Different projects created with Eco-Bat can be compared in a specially designed tool included in the software.
-
Impacts time evolution. Eco-Bat provides a tool that allows the user to follow the evolution of the environmental impacts during the building life. The materials replacement dates can easily be identified.
-
Reports printing. Most results screens in Eco-Bat can generate a report that includes numerical as well as graphical results.
-
Multi-lingual graphical user interface. The GUI is entirely translated in english, french, german and italian.
-
New updates regularly available.
- Importation of a LESOSAI 7 project.
Eco-Bat is distributed by the Laboratory of solar energetics and building physics (LESBAT) of the HES-SO of Yverdon-Les-Bains (HEIG-VD).
